The 2021 SXSW Festival has begun releasing the names for their upcoming online festival, and Willie Nelson has been officially announced as one of the featured speakers. According to Chief Programming Officer Hugh Forrest, “No individual has had the cultural impact on, or been more synonymous with the creative vibrancy of Austin than Willie Nelson, and we are incredibly honored to have him as a SXSW Online 2021 Keynote.”

The conference has moved to a digital experience due to rising cases of COVID-19 in the area and local restrictions on events. SXSW was canceled in 2020 due to concerns about the influx of people that come into the city for the event.

The festival is scheduled to take place March 16-20 and will feature over 230 conference sessions, music festival showcases and film festival screenings.

Kerrville Aquatics accepting applications for lifeguard positions

The City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for employment at the Olympic Pool this summer. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and be able to work regularly from June through mid-August. Starting rate is $10 per hour for lifeguards.
