Following last week’s severe weather storm, the City of Kerrville has announced programs that will immediately be put in place to help current city water and sewer utility customers.

The next bill customers receive will be charged at the lower of: Actual charges for the current month; Last month’s charge.

This one-time adjustment applies to both residential and commercial accounts. All customers are eligible for the adjustment, and if applied, it will take place of the usual courtesy leak adjustment process that the city offers.

The City of Kerrville determines sewer bills using a process called winter averaging because it is assumed that most of the water used in winter months goes into the wastewater system. The water usage in winter months is averaged over 12 months.

Due to high water consumption during the storm, usage during your billing period that contains the storm will NOT be used for sewer averaging.

City of Kerrville waiving building permit fees for storm-related repairs

The City of Kerrville announced Monday that they will be waiving building permit fees for repairs, reconstruction, and/or demolition related to the winter storm last week to restore the structure to pre-storm conditions. Applicable permit fees will be waived accordingly during this ongoing emergency period of 30 days for damages which occurred February 11-21.
