Kerr County Chamber of Commerce annual Shred Day Friday

The Kerr County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Shred Day event Friday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the River Hills Mall, 200 Sidney Baker Street. Individuals wishing to partake in the event need to arrive behind Belk and across from the Kerrville Post Office.

Sponsors for Friday’s event include Raising Cane’s and Century 21 The Hills Realty. Anyone who mentions the Chamber while dining today at Raising Cane’s will have 15% of their order sales donated to Kerrville Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, discounts will be given on certain menu items Friday.

Other supporters associated with the ever-so-popular Shred Day event include Jessie Reeh, Lone Star Containers, Condor Document Services, River Hills Mall, and Chamber Ambassadors.

Typically, more than 10,000 pounds are shredded at each Shred Day.

IH-10 Construction in Boerne halted until mid-May

According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, TXDOT and its contractors have canceled the scheduled Interstate 10 main lane closure for this weekend and rescheduled it for May 14-16. The announcement was made due to the inclement weather forecast predicted for the upcoming weekend. Many areas in the Texas Hill Country reported more than two inches of rain Thursday night with a 70% chance of precipitation on Friday.
