H-E-B announced that starting Wednesday, masks are optional for fully vaccinated workers, vendors and customers at all of their stores. According to store officials, the recent decision is because of “favorable trends in Texas,” and updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

After backlash from workers, the company changed its stance to require them for everyone in the store.
