The City of Kerrville and Schreiner University are excited to announce the opening of the approximately one-mile River Trail extension from G Street to Schreiner University and want to welcome citizens and visitors alike to begin enjoying it. The official unveiling occurred over the weekend and included the Trailhead Beer Garden on the campus grounds.

The City of Kerrville collaborated with Schreiner University and the Economic Improvement Corporation (EIC) for this particular project. River Trail funding comes primarily through the EIC, the city’s 4B sales tax corporation, with the hope being that the project will encourage development, tourism and quality of life for local residents.

The latest extension of the trail increases the length of the entire trail to almost six miles.
