City of Kerrville to resume social distancing requirements at city council meetings

Due to the recent local uptick in positive COVID-19 cases in Kerr County, standard safety protocols will be observed by city council, city staff, and citizens/visitors attending city council meetings. Masks will remain voluntary, but highly encouraged, six-foot distance seating will be observed and visitor seating will be designated. Visitor overflow will be in the city hall lobby or outside city hall.

Any citizen wishing to speak at city council meetings needs to submit a completed “speaker request form” to the city secretary and speakers will be limited to four minutes. Speakers are required to provide their first and last name, address, and identify the agenda item they wish to comment on.

Kerrville City Council meetings can be viewed on Spectrum Channel 2 or by live-streaming via the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov. City council meetings are also recorded and the recordings are posted on the city’s website and Facebook page.

On March 16, 2020, the Texas Governor suspended certain requirements of the Open Meetings Act to permit open meetings to occur in a fully or partially virtual setting. The maximum visitor seating capacity for City Council Chambers is nine, and the maximum lobby capacity is eight.
