Peterson Health hosting Community Stroke Awareness Day Wednesday

Peterson Health has announced that they are hosting a first-ever Stroke Awareness Fair on Wednesday, September 22, as part of National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, and will be providing community education and support on stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. The event is free to the public and will be held at Peterson Hospice and Home Care, 250 Cully Drive in Kerrville, from 3-6 p.m.

The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Mirelle Foster, who will be discussing “Stroke Awareness and Prevention.” Foster is currently the Medical Director for the Acute Rehab Unit at Peterson.

Several topics are slated to be presented including Peer Monitoring, Diet and Nutrition and even Pet Therapy Visitation. Event organizers want to remind attendees that they are welcome to come and go throughout the Fair and COVID-19 safety measures will be followed.

Additionally, door prizes and refreshments will be provided. For more details call (830) 258-7442, extension 9.
