Phase I of the Ranchero Road Reconstruction Project begins today on the western end of the project site from Fawn Valley to Oak Lane, weather permitting. The entire project Phase I extends from SH 16 southwest to Fawn Valley Road.

Beginning Saturday, November 20, road construction from Oak Lane to SH 16 (including in front of Nimitz Elementary) is anticipated to begin and continue through Wednesday, November 24. Crews are hoping to take advantage of school holidays during this time, weather permitting.

No construction work is scheduled to be performed during Thanksgiving holidays and weekend (barring any emergencies).

All of the remaining work is set to pick back up again on Monday, November 22 and will include pavement markings. This will continue until the project is complete.

According to Kerr County Engineer Charlie Hastings, citizens should anticipate some delays, lane closures and detours when going one-way- westbound while work is being performed during the times set for repair: Use detours at Oak Lane/Southway Drive/Waggoman Road/G Street/SH 16, or Valley View Drive/Rim Rock Road/ Lehmann Drive/SH 16 to obtain signalized intersections at SH 16.
