The City of Fredericksburg has announced that city offices and the Sanitary Landfill and Recycling Center will be closed Thursday, February 3, due to inclement weather. No decision has been made regarding Friday, as city officials continue to monitor the weather situation.

Crews will attempt to collect garbage as scheduled unless weather conditions become too hazardous for crew safety. If needed, city officials will notify customers of any changes made through social media channels.

The City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department continues to monitor weather conditions for Friday’s Daddy Daughter Dance. If the Fredericksburg Independent School District cancels school on Friday and travel isn’t possible, the event will be postponed to Saturday, February 5, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. A final decision will be made no later than the close of business on Thursday.

The Central Texas Electric Cooperative is encouraging members to be prepared in the event of power outages. CTEC crews are ready to respond to weather-related issues, but restoration times could be hindered by road and weather conditions.
