Due to inclement weather and winter road conditions, Gillespie County governmental offices will remain closed on Friday, February 4. The City of Fredericksburg offices will also remain closed on Friday, and the Sanitary Landfill and Recycling center will be closed, as well.

Crews will attempt to collect garbage on collection days, unless weather conditions prohibit collection operations. Should the regularly scheduled garbage collection be postponed, customers will be notified via social media channels.

The City of Fredericksburg’s Daddy Daughter Dance scheduled for Friday, February 4, has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 5. The event will take place at the Pioneer Pavilion at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park from 6-8:30 p.m. Those individuals who are unable to attend the rescheduled date will be able to receive full refunds by emailing specialevents@fbgtx.org, or calling (830) 990-2044.

Central Texas Electric Cooperative (CTEC) is asking its members to try to conserve energy when possible and be prepared in the event of power outages. CTEC members north and west of Fredericksburg, including Doss, Harper and parts of Mountain Home, are highly encouraged to conserve energy because the load on the system is creating problems in resolving a known transmission issue, according to a press release.

CTEC crews are prepared to respond to weather-related issues, but restoration times could be hindered by road and weather conditions.
