Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office actively searching for Saturday morning shooting suspect

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help to locate a man suspected of shooting another man and then crashing a vehicle nearby before fleeing on foot.

Juan Solis Malpica (a.k.a. Ismael Solis), 49, is wanted by the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office after a shooting Saturday morning at a Residence on Grasshopper Lane, northeast of Fredericksburg.

According to deputies, the suspect shot another man and left the location in a vehicle before crashing not too far from the residence and then fleeing on foot.

The shooting victim was flown to Brook Army Medical Center for medical attention.

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office said that warrants have been obtained and that the suspect remains at large as of 8:00 AM Saturday morning and is described as a Hispanic male, 5’6″ tall, weighing about 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
