Texas 4-H has announced they are gathering backpacks for students attending the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District this fall.
The backpacks received will be distributed to students enrolled in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.
Anyone wishing to donate can bring backpacks to the Gillespie County AgriLife Extension Office, 38 Business Court.
Members of Texas 4-H say their goal is to collect 2,000 backpacks before the start of the new academic school year.
The City of Kerrville is closing a section of Cully Drive beginning Monday, July 25 as part of the annual paving maintenance plan approved by city council. Crews will be reconstructing approximately 250 feet of Cully Drive beginning at Thompson Drive, and the project is expected to last until roughly August 26.
