City of Kerrville hosting Town Hall Meeting to discuss STR’s

The Kerrville City Council and the Kerrville Planning and Zoning Commission have scheduled a Town Hall Meeting, set for Monday, July 25, at 6:00 p.m. at the Dietert Center in Kerrville.  

Council and the P & Z are seeking citizen input prior to issuing regulations governing allowing Short Term Rentals (STR’s) in residentially zoned neighborhoods.  Currently, a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) is required with limited opportunity for residen’s objections.

Additionally, the Planning and Zoning Commission will be considering a resolution to allow Conditional Use Permit for a Short Term Rental at 510 Preston Trail Loop, located in the Riverhills subdivision on August 4.

Some Gillespie County businesses affected by Thursday’s thunderstorms

Gillespie County officials reported that due to Thursday evening thunderstorms, some area businesses suffered damage due to the 60-mph winds, recorded by  National Weather Service Meteorologist Aaron Treadway. Fredericksburg Police Chief Brian Vorauer said that various buildings felt the pressure from the storm between the hours of 5-9 p.m. Thursday night.
