The Kerrville Police Department arrested and charged a man with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon following an altercation that took place in the parking lot of Walmart on Wednesday afternoon.  According to a press release, KPD officers responded to the PRMC Emergency Room on October 5, at 4:59 p.m. for a reported stabbing.

KPD spoke with the victim who reported that the suspect confronted him after complaining that he was revving the engine of his car too loudly.  The victim says the confrontation soon became physical, resulting with the suspect assaulting him with a knife.

The victim, who sustained lacerations to his face and head, was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from Peterson Regional Medical Center.  The victim was able to provide law enforcement with information about the suspect’s identity.

Officers went to Walmart to locate the suspect, who was reportedly sleeping in the camper parked outside of the store.  Inside the suspect’s camper, officers spotted blood and signs of a struggle consistent with the victim’s account.

As KPD was processing the crime scene, the suspect, identified as Charles Frank Ottensen,55, returned to the scene and spoke with detectives.  KPD  arrested Ottensen for Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.  He is being held in the Kerr County Jail pending bond.
