The Kerrville Police Department arrested a robbery suspect after receiving a 911 call from a convenience store located in the 3300 block of Memorial Boulevard at approximately 6:11 a.m. on Monday, January 9. According to a press release, an employee reported a male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, gloves and a surgical mask who entered the store’s office, pushed an employee and stole money that was being inventoried for deposit.
KPD says that the suspect fled the scene, but the robbery victim stated that they recognized the alleged suspect as a former employee and provided officers with the suspect’s name and last known address. Mathew Meeks, 29, was arrested in his residence in the 3300 block of Legion Drive for several outstanding warrants with Kerrville Municipal Court and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office.
KPD Criminal Investigations Division detectives responded to assist with the investigation, and the suspect was found to be in possession of some stolen money. Meeks was also arrested and charged with Robbery and Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence
