Men’s Soccer Falls to East Texas Baptist 2-0

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Men’s Soccer team lost their home non-conference match against East Texas Baptist University 2-0.

The Mountaineers were at home for their non-conference matchup against the Tigers from East Texas Baptist University.

A scoreless first half saw both sides take a 0-0 score into halftime after both teams displayed a strong defensive effort to start the match. However, as the second half got underway, it would be East Texas Baptist who found their way on to the scoreboard first as a cross by the Tigers deflected off a Mountaineer and went in for an own goal in the 63rd minute. Then, the Tigers would strike again shortly after with another goal scored just one minute later.

Unfortunately, the 2-0 lead for East Texas Baptist would hold for the remainder of the half, bringing the match to a conclusion with a final score of 2-0 in favor of the Tigers.
