Volleyball Defeats Howard Payne University 3-1

KERRVILLE, TX: The Schreiner University Volleyball team won their road non-conference match against Howard Payne University 3-1.

The Mountaineers traveled to Brownwood, Texas, for their non-conference matchup against the Yellow Jackets from Howard Payne University.

The Schreiner University Volleyball team’s hot streak continued to roll as they took care of the Yellow Jackets in just four sets (25-23, 13-25, 28-26, 25-22).

Leading the way for the Mountaineers was graduate senior, Brooke Byer, who put together a great performance on both sides of the ball. Byer finished with a team high 13 kills on 38 total attacks (.211 K%) as well as 15 digs on the defensive side to go with it.

Also with a strong performance was Giana Hilliard who finished with 11 kills, Mia Moreno who finished with a team high 28 assists, and Jenna Palomarez who finished with a team high 19 digs.

Up next, the Schreiner University Volleyball team will look to continue their winning streak with a trip to Abilene, texas, where they are set to take on the War Hawks from McMurry University on September 19th at 6:00 PM CST.
