The Schreiner University Equestrian team turned in a strong two-day performance at UT on Feb. 7–8, highlighted by multiple top finishes across Hunter Seat Flat and Over Fences competition.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, Kadence Swavely led the way on the flat with a second-place finish in Intro. Gwen Rangel added a fourth-place ride in Novice, while Elena Foulks (Intermediate) and Kora Kaaiohelo (Limit) each earned fifth-place finishes. Elle Reinarz and Karah Boisvert both claimed fifth in Limit, and Katelyn Maher secured sixth in Open.
Over fences on Saturday, Kora Kaaiohelo captured first place in Limit, setting the tone for the weekend. Maher followed with a second-place finish in Limit, and Katelyn Turner added a fifth-place ride in the same division.
The Mountaineers carried that momentum into Sunday’s competition. On Feb. 8 in Hunter Seat Flat, Ellie Slate earned a first-place finish in Open. Boisvert and Turner each placed second in Limit, while Maher added a third-place finish in Open. Kaaiohelo and Swavely both took fifth in Limit and Intro, respectively, and Foulks (Intermediate) and Rangel (Novice) each finished sixth.
In Sunday’s Over Fences competition, Foulks delivered a first-place ride in Intermediate. Boisvert earned second in Limit, while Slate and Maher both placed fifth in Intermediate. Turner added another fifth-place finish in Limit, and Ellison Reinarz rounded out the results with a reserve finish in Limit.
Schreiner’s depth across divisions and consistent podium performances highlighted a successful weekend in the arena for the Mountaineers.
