Carly Pearce is looking back on how far she’s come, after receiving the Song Suffragettes’ Yellow Rose of Inspiration Award at Monday’s 12th Anniversary Show in Nashville.
The “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay” singer recapped the night in an Instagram post.
“12 years ago, I played the 4th ever @songsuffragettes show in Nashville – a night dedicated to empowering female artists and songwriters and giving us a place to share our songs,” she wrote.
“Last night was one of the most full circle moments of my career, being honored as this year’s Yellow Rose Honoree. Hearing those girls, who reminded me so much of myself all those years ago, sing my songs and share how my music has impacted them… I don’t even have the words.”
The carousel of photos and video from the night shows part of Carly’s acceptance speech, as she encourages the female singer/songwriters to see her success as proof it can happen for them as well.
There’s also a clip of the songwriters round where they perform Carly’s hit “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” as a tribute.
Her visual recap ends with perhaps the most interesting video of all, one that shows an almost-unrecognizable Carly performing at an early Song Suffragettes show.
