KERRVILLE, Texas — Schreiner University’s rifle program continues its upward trajectory as several athletes earned Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Rifle honors, and the team was named the Most Improved Team in Air Rifle.
Leading the way was freshman standout Molly Mitchell, who delivered one of the most impressive seasons in program history. Mitchell was named MAC Rookie of the Year, earned the Smallbore Achievement Award, and was selected to the All-MAC First Team in both Smallbore and Air Rifle. Her performance established her as one of the top competitors in the conference and positioned her as a cornerstone of the Schreiner program’s future.
Sophomore Cora Anderson was also recognized for her consistent performance throughout the season, earning All-MAC Second Team honors in both Smallbore and Air Rifle. Anderson’s leadership and reliability played a key role in the team’s competitive advancement this year.
Sophomore Christian Nickerson earned a place on the All-MAC Rookie Team in both Smallbore and Air Rifle, highlighting his continued development and competitive performance throughout the season. His recognition reflects both his individual progress and the growing strength of Schreiner’s roster.
In addition to individual honors, Schreiner University was named the Most Improved Team in Air Rifle, reflecting measurable progress and competitive gains across the roster. The award recognizes the team’s performance improvement over the course of the season and affirms the program’s continued development within the MAC.
“These honors reflect the discipline and commitment our athletes have demonstrated throughout the season,” said Head Coach Tim McGuire. “Our team has worked to build a strong foundation, and this recognition confirms the progress they have made and the direction of the program.”
These achievements represent significant progress for a program that has focused on building a competitive foundation, recruiting talented athletes, and establishing a culture of discipline and performance. Schreiner’s recognition at both the individual and team levels signals the program’s growing presence within the conference.
With a strong core of returning athletes and continued momentum, Schreiner University Rifle is positioned to remain competitive and build upon this season’s success in future MAC competition.
