Taylor Swift is having a marvelous time expanding everything.

Taylor is adding on to Holiday House, her home in Rhode Island that inspired her folklore song “the last great american dynasty.” The Providence Journal reports that according to a building permit issued in December, the home, which is already 11,000 square feet, will be gaining a new bedroom and bathrooms, and the kitchen will undergo renovations.

The planned bedroom is 16 feet by 24 feet; there’s no word on how many extra bathrooms are being added. That, along with the kitchen, is expected to cost $1.7 million for labor and materials.

Taylor bought the house in 2013 for nearly $18 million and has thrown many star-studded parties there over the years. During one weekend in August 2024, People, TMZ and The Daily Mail reported that Taylor hosted her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and a bunch of other pals at the mansion, including Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds; Travis’ brother, Jason, and his wife, KylieBradley Cooper and his daughter, Lea, 7; and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, his wife, Brittany, and their daughter, Sterling, 3.

“The last great american dynasty” is about Rebekah Harkness, the real-life woman who used to live at Holiday House and had, as Taylor sang, “a marvelous time ruining everything.”
