July 2021 is National Park and Recreation Month, with this year’s theme being “Our Park and Recreation Story.” Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Parks and Recreation Month, with the goal being raising awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation have on communities across the country.
With nearly 25 city parks, Kerrville Park’s and Recreation offers a wide range of activities within its park system, including swimming, kayaking, dog parks and fishing. According to Kerrville Parks and Recreation Director Ashlea Boyle, “Parks promote a healthy community image and a sense of place, support economic development and quality of life, and boost physical and mental well-being.”
For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
