Peterson Health announces pre-registration system beginning Thursday

Peterson Health announced Wednesday that they will be opening a pre-registration system which will allow Kerr County citizens to be placed on a COVID-19 vaccination wait list. According to Kerrville Fire Chief Eric Maloney, the pre-registration can be done online or by phone.

Anyone wanting to sign up for a vaccination spot should go to www.research.net/r/PetersonHealth beginning Thursday, February 11, or call (800) 208-3611, Monday-Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

According to Maloney, the actual wait list process will be “sorted by the tiers as designated by DSHS.” Specific dates for receiving the shots are still not known due to the uncertainty of the vaccine’s weekly allocations.

Kerr County officials anticipate hearing when the latest shipments of COVID-19 vaccines will be arriving by Friday. The PRMC site is strictly for this facility’s shipments of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Individuals who fall into the Tier 1A or 1B category will be given priority for any upcoming allotments of the vaccine. According to the DSHS, this includes healthcare workers, residents of long-term care facilities, people aged 65 years and older and people 18-64 years of age with underlying medical issues.

Maloney said that there are 14,000 Kerr County residents who are 65 years of age and older and 14,000 residents classified as being between 16-64 years of age who have underlying medical conditions. Some of these individuals may be classified into both groups.

As of Tuesday, February 9, Kerr County reported 186 active COVID-19 cases, which is the lowest number since November. The county’s official COVID-19 fatality rate stands at 79.

Gillespie County reported 73 active cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, February 10. The county’s official COVID-19 death toll is 44.

The state of Texas is administering an average of 131,502 vaccine doses each day, a record high.

3.18% of Texans (892,736) have been fully vaccinated. 7.74% (1,737,831) Texans have been partially vaccinated.
