The Kerrville Independent School District announced their upcoming 2021-2022 academic school year COVID-19 protocols on August 10. The district also confirmed that they will not be offering Virtual Learning as an instructional model.
KISD strongly encourages masks, but they are not mandatory. All campuses will be providing hand sanitizer at building entrances and will be disinfecting “high contact” areas and surfaces regularly. Students who have fever or are sick are encouraged to stay home.
Students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to quarantine for ten days until symptoms have improved. Contact tracing will be done for informational purposes, but those deemed to have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person will not be required to quarantine.
Letters will be emailed to parents and guardians of positive cases and students will be notified if they have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person.
Kerrville ISD will be hosting a free ‘Back to School Vaccination Clinic’ administered by the Texas Military Department on Saturday, August 14 at Tivy High School Gym, 3250 Loop 534, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered to people age 12 and older and is available to students, staff and families of Kerrville residents. The second dose will be administered Saturday, September 4.
