Kerr County Sheriff’s Office arrests two men in connection with continuous sexual assault of a child

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office has concluded a months-long investigation on multiple allegations of Sexual Assault of a Child. In October 2020, KCSO Investigator Greg Longenbaugh received information from Child Protective Services regarding a possible sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14 in which witness statements and evidence were obtained.

As of Thursday, March 4, two suspects have been arrested, charged, and booked into the Kerr County Jail. The suspects are identified as George Nolan Hines, 52, from Center Point, and Jacob Michael Overgard, 24, from Kerrville.

Suspect Hines was arrested for Sex Abuse of a Child, Continuous, Victim Under 14. He i currently in the Kerr County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Suspect Overgard was arrested for two charges of Violation of Probation for a previous case, and for Sex Abuse of a Child, Continuous, Victim Under 14. He is currently in the Kerr County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

According to Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha, “The two arrests in this case are the result of the Sheriff’s Office persistent pursuit of justice for this young crime victim. The message is clear-we will use all legal and investigative means to protect the children of Kerr County.”

Leitha added, “Our investigators did an excellent job, and we appreciate the assistance of the Center Point Police Department, Kids Advocacy Place, and Child Protective Services. The public is safer today without these two individuals on the streets.”
