The Kerrville Independent School District released a statement Friday regarding a national social media trend that rumors a non-specific school shooting threat on Friday, December 17. Other school districts around the nation have also issued warnings about the social media trend, which is believed to have originated on TikTok.

KISD officials state that there is no specific threat to any Kerrville ISD school, but out of an abundance of caution, have been in close contact with the Kerrville Police Department and district administrators to ensure situational awareness. The Kerrville Police Department will have additional patrols around all KISD campuses during the day and School Resource Officers have a heightened awareness.

Law enforcement authorities and school officials encourage parents to take this time to talk to your child about being responsible on social media.
