Peterson Health has announced that beginning Thursday, January 6, they will begin offering a new COVID-19 testing center at the Kerrville Medical Plaza. The testing center will further operate Mondays through Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., by appointment, for community members over the age of 2 years.
PRMC will have an employee available on site to give instructions, and tests will be administered via self-swab testing. This service is intended for testing only, not for medical evaluation or treatment, and ideal for people concerned about possible exposure, are experiencing mild symptoms, or are in need of returning to work or school.
It is important for the public to note that no physician order is required, and no physician will be available on site. There is no out-of-pocket expense for the test, but if an individual has health insurance, the cost will be billed to their respective insurance company.
Those interested in scheduling an appointment can visit www.petersonhealth.com, and testing results will be posted on the patient portal once they become available. No walk-ins will be accepted.
According to Tracy Davis, VP of Population Health, “Peterson recognized the need to expand COVID-19 testing. Our team quickly established a self-swab testing center and we are proud to continue supporting our community’s healthcare needs.”
