On Monday, the H-E-B debit account program will officially launch for Texas shoppers, according to a press release.  The grocery store chain says it will offer customers a new way to pay for their groceries and home goods, along with added savings.

The debit card has multiple benefits like 5 percent cash back on H-E-B brand items, two days earlier payments with direct deposit, free cash withdrawals at H-E-B branded ATM’s, cell phone insurance when paying with the card, identity theft services, no monthly fees and no overdraft fees.

The card will be usable “anywhere Mastercard is accepted, acts as a spending card with and an optional, high-yield savings account.”

According to H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing Ashwin Nathan, “With the H-E-B debit card, customers can have a more rewarding experience that allows them to keep more money in their pockets while enjoying valuable benefits and perks.”

Customers can link another debit card to the H-E-B account to make adding funds easier.  Anyone wanting to apply for the account can visit www.hebdebit.com.  The debit card is FDIC insured.
