The City of Kerrville municipal offices, including the city secretary’s office, will be closed Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Additionally, the city’s offices will be closed on Monday, January 1 in observance of the New Year holiday. The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library will be closed Saturday, December 23 through Tuesday, December 26 and Monday, January 1.
The Parks and Recreation Department office located at Kerrville-Schreiner Park will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The City of Kerrville’s residential solid waste customers will experience changes to their garbage and recycling collection schedule during the upcoming holidays. There will be no garbage collection on December 25, and the Landfill will also be closed on this day. Tuesday, December 26 is a makeup garbage day for customers who normally have garbage collections on Mondays. Wednesday, December 27 is a makeup day for residents who normally have their service on Tuesdays. Thursday, December 28 is a makeup garbage day for Wednesday customers, and Friday, September 29 is intended for Thursday customers. Finally, Saturday, December 30 is a makeup day for customers who have their garbage collection on Fridays.
Service days for New Year’s week will be identical to the service days during Christmas week. There will be no garbage collection on Monday, January 1, and the Landfill will be closed on this day.
Republic Services will be conducting its Special Collection to residential customers during Christmas week beginning December 26 through December 29. This service allows residents to discard extra trash from Christmas Day. Extra trash must be in bags and placed out on the same day as your cart by 7:30 a.m. Bags must have enough wall strength to maintain integrity when lifted, weigh less than 35 pounds, and be placed at least three feet away from your cart. Be advised that this service is not provided on recycling day.
