The City of Kerrville is preparing for the April 8 annular solar eclipse and is currently offering vendor applications through February 23. The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Kerrville Eclipse Festival in Louise Hays Park on April 8, which will feature live music, educational speakers and additional programming. NASA will be joining the event to broadcast the eclipse live and engage with event attendees.
“The city will be issuing information on how to prepare for the April 8 total solar eclipse. While it is important to be prepared, we also want the community to be excited,” said Parks and Recreation Tourism and Event Coordinator Rain Thoreson. Thoreson added that the event will allow a rare opportunity to show off the beautiful Texas Hill Country to visitors.
Vendor applications for the event are currently open and will close on Feb. 23. Persons interested in sponsoring the event, volunteering, or vending at the Kerrville Eclipse Festival should visit https://kerrvilletx.gov/2024/Kerrville-Eclipse-Festival.
