The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Kerrville Police Department, responded to a shooting incident on February 12, which resulted in the arrests of three individuals.  On Monday, at roughly 7:30 p.m., law enforcement officials responded to a report of shots being fired in the 3000 block of Junction Highway in West Kerr County.  Deputies determined that a road rage-type of incident had occurred which resulted in a suspect firing multiple rounds from a firearm into a second vehicle, according to a press release.  The occupants of the second vehicle were unharmed in the incident.

The shooter was identified as 18-year old Christian Julian Hernandez, of Kerrville, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Sheriff’s Office Investigators successfully captured Hernandez Tuesday morning as the suspect was attempting to flee the residence.  Hernandez has been booked into the Kerr County Jail on one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, with his bond set at $100,000.

Also detained with Hernandez was 20-year old Aniela Isabel Ramirez, of Kerrville.  Ramirez was found to be in possession of two handguns and booked into the Kerr County Jail on one count of Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.  Bond has not been set at the time of the press release.

During the execution of a search warrant at Hernandez’s home, Investigators discovered numerous items which may be connected to some recent car burglaries within the Kerrville city limits, including tools, prescription medication, wallets, credit and debit cards, checks, and some drivers’ licenses.  KPD and KCSO Investigators are currently working to identify the owners of the recovered property.

As a result of this investigation, Andrew Lee Valderez, 18, of Kerrville, was found in possession of a substance suspected to be MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy.  Valderez was booked into the Kerr County Jail on one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, PG 1>=1g<4g.  His bond has not been set at the time of the press release.

The investigation into the original shooting remains active.  Anyone with any information related to this case can call Investigator Jon Cooley at (830) 315-2431.

“Our office tackled this case with all available resources, and we are pleased to have these suspects in custody within hours of the incident.  This kind of reckless behavior risked the lives of those involved and many innocent people in the vacinity,” said Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha.
