Ed Sheeran‘s got his next era all figured out.

After finishing his “Mathematics” series of albums in 2023 with Subtract, Ed tells Variety that he’s moving on to something new: His next album is finished and he’s already filmed two music videos. He plans to shoot two more early next year while he tours India.

Ed is also planning to promote the heck out of the new album because, as he notes, Subtract was “obviously a completely different record that didn’t really call for big pop stuff.” By contrast, with the new album, Ed says, “It feels like I’m getting back into big pop for the first time in a long time. It’s quite exciting.”

While we wait for that, we can enjoy Ed’s holiday tune “Under the Tree,” featured in the animated Netflix movie That Christmas, written by Richard Curtis, the man behind the holiday classic Love Actually.

Ed says the film is “perfect” to watch with his younger daughter, Jupiter. In fact, they’ve watched it three times, and he says he “even rented a little local cinema to do it with my mates and their kids.” He adds, “It’s nice to have something quintessentially British, but also that you can watch with young children.”
