Individuals interested in running on the ballot for Kerrville City Council Place One or Place Two in the May 3, 2025 general election can pick up a candidate application packet in the city secretary’s office, located at City Hall, 701 Main Street.  The city secretary office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (Note:  Monday, January 20 is a holiday, and City Hall will be closed.)

The first day for filing an application with the city secretary is Wednesday, January 15, and filing continues through Friday, February 14 at 5 p.m.  A completed City of Kerrville officials candidate application will be accepted.

In accordance with the city charter, any person who is a registered voter of the city and lawfully qualifies may file an application for a place on the ballot.  Qualifications are listed in the Texas Election Code and the Kerrville City Charter.  Candidates are elected at large, meaning the City does not designate districts, and councilmembers assume office without party or partisan mark or designation and serve a two-year term.  The candidate’s name and place for which he/she is filing must be affixed by the city secretary at the time of issuance of the application and petition.  Such application must include a filing fee of $100;  however, the filing fee will be waived where the petition includes the signatures of not less than 100 qualified and registered voters of the city.

Early voting begins April 22 and continues through April 29.  The election will occur at the Municipal Court building located at 301 McFarland.  The City moved the election to this location as the Cailloux Theater will be undergoing extensive roofing reconstruction during this same period.

Delayne Sigerman currently holds the position of Councilmember Place One, and Jeff Harris holds the position of Councilmember Place Two.

For information regarding the May 3, 2025 city election, contact the City secretary’s office at (830) 258-1117 or (830) 258-1118.
