Lauren Alaina‘s got a new song coming out soon, and it’s one her mom loves.
The “Road Less Traveled” singer recently let her mom, Kristy, hear “Those Kind of Women” for the first time and captured her reaction via video.
“I was raised by those kind of women/ Rocked to sleep on Dolly and Dylan/ Set you straight with a fly swatter whippin’/ You can always smell love cookin’ in the kitchen/ Knew how to make a man listen/ Keep a little rainy day coffee can cash hidden/ And whatever kind of hell they were goin’ through/ Jesus was right there with ’em/ I was raised by those kind of women” go the lyrics of Lauren’s autobiographical song.
Lauren’s mom was all smiles hearing that chorus. When Lauren asked what she thought of it, she replied, “I love it,” before hugging her daughter.
In an earlier post, Lauren called “Those Kind of Women” an “open letter to the southern (sassy) women that made me who I am.”
“Those Kind of Women” arrives on digital platforms Jan. 24.
Up next on Lauren’s tour schedule is a show at the Grand Ole Opry on Feb. 12 before she heads to Evansville to open for Rascal Flatts on their Life Is A Highway Tour on Feb. 13.
