From personal best performances to hard-fought victories this weekend, things heated up over in Bristol, TN for the Mountaineers! The Tornado Open had a larger number of entries compared to **last year**, and the opponents were tougher this year. Steadily, the ladies gained momentum, stayed gritty, and made their presence known.

103 Odelia Lopez 1st

110 Prestejah Yockeman 4th

117 Jaia Ashley 3rd

124 Lexys Basurto 2nd

124 Ileah Brown 4th

180 Symphanie Sampson 6th

4th place finish out of 26 teams

Standout: #7 Odelia Lopez met #9 in the semifinals and #5 in her championship match. Winning both matches soundly and strategically.

Lexys Basurto showcased her growth, finishing 2nd this year! A stronger performance from last year – along with scoring the most match points on the team!

Lexys and Odelia scored the most team points for us, gaining a total of 29 points.

Coach’s Comment: We’re proud of the ladies, and they’re proud of themselves. It’s always great when you hear them say they see the progress—great or small, mental or physical. It’s tying together, and it’s happening where it needs to.
