Rep. Chip Roy seeks answers from Peregrine Energy regarding proposed Battery Storage Facility near Harper

Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) has raised concerns regarding a proposed battery storage facility by Peregrine Energy in Gillespie County.  He requested specific details about the project, citing environmental risks in an area vulnerable to extreme droughts, wildfires, and flooding.

Roy emphasized the need for careful stewardship of the landscape, stating, “Residents of Gillespie County are concerned about the environmental risks a battery storage facility poses.”  His inquiry aims to address the concerns of many Harper residents.

Additionally, Roy sent a letter to Peregrine Energy asking some very detailed questions regarding the project, stating he would “appreciate a written response to each question by August 15, 2025.”  To read the letter in its entirety, visit www.roy.house.gov.
