The City of Kerrville has announced that more than $1 million in total sales has been generated through the city’s use of the GovDeals.com online auction platform.
GovDeals is a nationwide online marketplace that provides government agencies, schools, and other public-sector organizations with a secure and transparent way to sell surplus assets. Through this platform, the City of Kerrville has been able to list items such as used vehicles, equipment, tools, and machinery, making them available to bidders across the country. This process ensures both transparency in the sale of public assets and the best possible return for items that are no longer in service.
Since the city’s first auction in 2010, more than 360 surplus assets have been sold through GovDeals, contributing to this $1 million milestone.
Revenue from these sales is reinvested directly into the city’s asset replacement funds, which are used to purchase new vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment that support the delivery of essential city services. This achievement underscores the City of Kerrville’s commitment to responsible financial stewardship and sustainability giving surplus items a second life while maximizing taxpayer value.
Residents and the public can browse and bid on Kerrville’s surplus auctions at www.GovDeals.com by searching for “City of Kerrville.”
