Schreiner Rolls Past Centenary in 4–0 Shutout

KERRVILLE, Texas — Schreiner Men’s Soccer delivered a dominant performance Sunday afternoon, defeating Centenary (LA) 4–0 at Mountaineer Soccer Field to notch its first conference win of the season.

The Mountaineers wasted no time, with Cameron Armer scoring twice in the opening half (8th and 26th minutes), both assisted by Brayan Plascencia. Schreiner extended its lead just after halftime when Diego Ruiz netted his first goal of the year in the 46th minute, set up by Armer. Moments later, Gabe Zagastizabal added his first goal off an assist from Travis Matthews in the 54th minute.

On the defensive side, goalkeeper Houston Schuman anchored a back line that held Centenary to just one shot all match, recording his first shutout of the season. Schreiner outshot the Gents 10–1 and controlled 58% of possession while committing only two fouls.

The Mountaineers improve to 2–8-1 overall and 1–1 in SCAC play with the victory. They’ll look to carry the momentum into next week’s conference matchups.
