Numerous food distribution events scheduled throughout the Hill Country

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits were halted on November 1.

KERRKIND.org has listed several organizations that are offering food assistance to Kerr County residents:

~Cavalry Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays

~Christian Assistance Ministry-Kerr County every two weeks

~Children’s Weekend Food Program at Nimitz, Starkey and Tom Daniels elementary schools

~Christus Women Infant Children

~Doyle School Community Center weekly pantry

~Glory Community Garden to grow food

~Kerrville First Presbyterian Church-Hope’s Kitchen offers warm meals at 11:30 a.m. Saturdays

~Kerrville First Presbyterian Church-Pop Up Market drive-thru at 9 a.m. on third Saturdays

~Mustard Seed Food Pantry at Light on the Hill at 10 a.m. Mondays

~Society of St. Vincent De Paul Society Notre Dame twice per month

~Salvation Army

~The Good Samaritan Center and Central Texas Food Bank on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 N. LLano St.  Additionally, 400 turkeys will be distributed at this event.
