Locals and visitors alike are invited to attend the City of Kerrville’s 24th Annual Holiday Lighted Parade on Nov. 22 beginning at 6 p.m., which will feature area First Responders as the parade’s Grand Marshals in recognition of their courage, dedication and steadfast service to our community.

This year’s theme celebrates the unity and resilience that defines Kerrville, shining a light on those who answer the call – day and night – to protect and serve.  First Responders from the City of Kerrville, volunteer fire departments in Center Point, Ingram, Hunt and Turtle Creek, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Game Wardens and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office are invited to participate as honorary Grand Marshals.  The Parade runs approximately 1.5 miles through the downtown area.

“Kerrville has always been a community that lifts one another up,” said Jay Brimhall, director of Kerrville Parks and Recreation.  “We wanted to recognize our First Responders for their continued service and the strength they bring to our community.  Many in and out of the uniform found themselves on the front lines back in July.  This year’s parade is also a reflection of the compassion and support that make Kerrville such a special Hill Country home – where neighbors help neighbors and community spirit shines brightest.  That’s what makes us Kerrville Strong!”

The Holiday Parade will continue its beloved tradition of lighting up downtown with floats, music and holiday joy – offering a time for celebration, gratitude and togetherness as the season begins.  Commuters and visitors should review the downtown road closures map if they have plans during the day of Nov. 22.  Some roads will begin closing as early as 11:30 a.m. in preparation of the parade.

For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
