A Kendall County deputy shot a man who authorities say opened fire during a response to a fight at a motel in Comfort early Sunday morning, leaving the suspect in critical condition. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office released footage of the deputy-involved shooting, which happened over the weekend at the Executive Inn Motel.
The sheriff’s office said the deputy was responding to reports of several men fighting when the encounter escalated. In the video, the deputy can be heard ordering the man to show his hands and come toward him. The suspect responds, “No f—you,” before gunshots are heard.
Authorities identified the man as Sean Seale and said he fired at the deputy after ignoring orders. The deputy fired back, critically injuring Seale, the sheriff’s office said. The deputy was not hurt.
Seale is expected to face two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder of a peace officer.
