The City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department invites the community and visitors to celebrate nature, education, and fun at Kerrville-Schreiner Park Community Day on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Events and programming will begin at 8 a.m., which is designed to appeal to nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, families, and visitors of all ages.  Throughout the day, attendees can participate in educational sessions, enjoy local food vendors, and enjoy upbeat live music in a scenic, community-focused setting.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from Hitchman Homestead and Barking Dog Ice, who will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and spend the day enjoying the park’s welcoming environment and community spirit.  Pet owners are reminded that dogs are welcome in most areas of the park; however, they are not permitted at the riverfront.  All dogs must remain on a leash, and owners are responsible for cleaning up all waste.

Parking at Kerrville-Schreiner Park will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so guests are encouraged to arrive early or plan accordingly.  Please note that restoration efforts within the park may still be ongoing during the event.  Visitors are asked to be mindful that river access may be restricted and to respect all posted signage and barricades to ensure the safety of both guests and staff.

The Parks and Recreation Dept. would also like to thank General Rental Center in Ingram for their donation of four large cooling fans for the event.  With their help, everyone can beat the summer heat and stay cool, comfortable and focused on the day’s activities.

For additional information about the Parks or this event, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (830) 257-7300, or visit www.kerrvilletx.gov.
