Kerrville Pets Alive! is hosting a remembrance ceremony to honor the animals lost to the flood, the people who loved them and the community that is still healing.  The event will be held Friday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. at 2102 Memorial Blvd. and will feature music from Aaron LaCombe.  Leashed pets are welcome.

According to a post from KPA!, on July 4, 2025 and the weeks and months that followed, the facility became a “true pet resource center for all of Kerr County.”  Officials said the organization assisted more than 350 pets, transformed their campus into a reunification center, became a medical hub for companion animals and search-and-rescue dogs, and also a place where families could say their final goodbyes.

“The flood claimed the lives of thousands of animals – companion animals, livestock, and wildlife.  Every life mattered.  Every loss was felt,” the post read.
