A tornado hit part of San Antonio on Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Bexar County about 8 a.m. “Confirmed tornado crossing I-10 between The Dominion and Shavano Park,” the NWS wrote in a post on X.
The tornado touched down at approximately 8:15 a.m. in the area of Loop 1604 and I-10, and then crossed over into The Rim shopping district before continuing to head northeast. Damage has been reported at the Palladium movie theater and at Bass Pro Shop along I-10 at The Rim.
The San Antonio Fire Department said crews responded Wednesday morning to an apartment complex located at 6023 UTSA Blvd Apartment complex with severe roof damage and another damaged apartment building in the 5700-5800 block of Worth Parkway. The department also said it received multiple reports of damage to properties at The Rim after a tornado was reported in the area. No injuries were reported.
Meteorologists have not yet completed a damage survey, so no EF rating, estimated wind speeds or confirmed damage path has been released.
