~A recall of frozen fruit from July that sickened more than a dozen people has been expanded to include another product sold in additional states. Frutus y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., San Carlos, Chile, is adding one lot of 10-ounce Great Value frozen Organic Triple Berry Blend to its July recall because of potential contamination with E.coli. The product was shipped to select Walmart stores in 16 states, including Texas.
The lot code of the product is 6040-01-6 and the berries have a best if used by date of February 9, 2028. The original recall from July 3 included 10-ounce bags of Frozen Green wise Organic IQF Blueberries shipped to Publix stores in eight states. Later that month, Publix issued a recall of all lots of Green wise Organic Frozen Whole Blueberries and Whole Mixed Berries, including 10- and 48 -ounce bags.
Officials are urging consumers with the recalled products in their possession to not consume them and immediately discard or return them to the place of purchase.
~Halloween candy sold at popular retailers in 13 states, including Texas, is being recalled because it contains undeclared milk allergens, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. According to the recall dated Aug. 31, Crystal Temptations of North Arlington, NJ is recalling its Halloween Chocolatey Eyeballs, which was sold under the Crystal Temptations brand at the following retails stores: Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, and Sierra Trading Post.
