Jenschke Orchards kicks off Fall by celebrating America’s 250th birthday

Jenschke Orchards has officially opened its annual fall activities, including its five-acre corn maze which celebrates America’s 250th birthday.  The orchard has used country music themes for its maze in recent years, but the nation’s anniversary gave them an opportunity to try something different.  It is recommended that you give yourself about 20 to 30 minutes to make your way through it.

Jenschke Orchards also offers a You-Pick pumpkin patch, a flower field, barnyard area and giant corn pit.  Pumpkins are grown on the property and visitors can cut their own pumpkin directly from the vine.  Pre-cut pumpkins are also available.  The property also has a restaurant, tasting room and farm store.

The orchard is also selling a special T-shirt for its 250 celebration.  Anyone who purchased the $25 shirt will receive a free wristband for admission to the maze and activities on the day the shirt is purchased.

The orchard’s fall attraction typically takes months of planning.  The corn for the maze is planted as early as June.  The crops stay on irrigation throughout the summer until they’re ready for the fall season.
