FEMA Individual Assistance has been approved for affected Kerr County residents, according to Kerr Together, the long-term recovery group serving Kerr County and Comfort. Residents can apply at DisasterAssistance.gov or call (800) 621-3362. Residents can also receive application assistance at two locations:
~Kerr Together Disaster Relief Center: 98 Coronado Drive, Kerrville, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
~Center Point Historical Society: Downtown Center Point, Monday through Friday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., plus Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Applicants should have their Social Security number, annual household income, contact information, damaged home address and insurance details ready. Bank account information is also needed for those choosing to direct deposit if approved.
FEMA cannot duplicate insurance payments. Residents whose insurance does not cover essential needs, or whose payment is delayed, may request assistance. Kerr Together encourages anyone whose application is declined to review the explanation carefully. Additional information or documentation may be needed.
For local recovery support, call (830) 315-1002 or visit KerrTogether.com.
