Kerr County is seeking volunteer deputy registrars and asks citizens who may be interested to pick up a packet from the Kerr County Elections Office, located on the first floor of the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street, Kerrville. After reviewing the packet material, interested parties need to schedule a date and time to take the volunteer deputy registrar examination.
Certification tests are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on any of the following dates: Feb. 3, Feb. 16, March 3, March 16 or March 30. All exams will be conducted at the Hill Country Youth Event Center, 3785 TX Hwy. 27, in Kerrville. Space is limited to 10 people per date and time.
Deputy registrars are relied upon for handing out and receiving voter registration cards, making sure the cards are filled out correctly and returning the cards to the Kerr County Elections Office in a timely manner.
Previous VDR certificates expired on December 31, 2020 and training is mandatory in order to hold current certifications as required by the 2011 State Legislature. If someone no longer wishes to be a volunteer deputy registrar, they are asked to return their supplies to the main office, located in Suite 124 of the Kerr County Courthouse, Elections Division, 700 Main Street, Kerrville.
