KERR COUNTY, Texas — A Kerr County man has been charged with multiple felonies after law enforcement authorities say he used a child to try and conceal over 20 grams of methamphetamine during a drug bust.

Stephen Allen Grant, 47, of Ingram, Texas, was arrested Thursday in Kerr County after Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (KSCO) Narcotic Investigators made a traffic stop near the 1600 block of Junction Highway in Kerrville.

According to KCSO, Grant attempted to conceal methamphetamine on a child during the stop. 21.5 grams of methamphetamine were found during the stop.

Grant was charged with Manufacturing or Delivering a controlled substance, between 4 and 200 grams, which is a first-degree felony in the state of Texas.

Grant was also charged with tampering or fabricating evidence with intent to impair and using a child to deliver or manufacture a penalty group 1 substance.

KSCO says that another charge for endangering a child is pending.

“Methamphetamine remains a danger to our community, and our narcotics investigators will continue their campaign against drugs and the crimes that surround them,” said Sheriff Larry Leitha. “This arrest finishes a week of work by our team. In this case, we took drugs off the streets, and took action to protect both local youth and other citizens of Kerr County.”

Grant was taken to the Kerr County Jail on bonds totaling $110,000, where he has since bonded out, according to Kerr County Jail records.
