On Sunday, January 31, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Kerrville PD received a call from the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in locating a subject wanted in connection to a murder in Bandera County.
BCSO reported that the suspect, Austin Ray Small, DOB 2/7/1996, was involved in a shooting that resulted in a deceased victim.
Small, allegedly, was possibly in Kerrville, and dispatch identified multiple locations of family and associates for which the suspect could possibly be located.
KPD officers assisted BCSO in checking multiple locations where Small was suspected of being, and at 12:45 a.m., Monday, February 1, officers located the vehicle that Small was reported to be driving in the residence of Leslie Drive.
Small was located inside the residence and ordered to emerge outside where he then surrendered to KPD officers.
Small was eventually turned over to the Texas Rangers and deputies from the Bandera County SO. He was arrested and taken to Bandera County.
